Treehouse Village Fantasy: Mixed Media Art & Handcrafted Treasures This class is made with young or timid artists in mind this is a "big kid" class for preschoolers, k-2 and a grown up. Or, if your child is older and has a special need that would require the physical or emotional support of a grown up this is a great class for you. OR, if your child has never done a class with us and you want to be involved just for your peace of mind, this is for you! Join us for a whimsical art adventure where young artists will dream, design, and create their own Treehouse Village masterpieces! In this fun-filled class, kids will explore a variety of art techniques and materials while crafting three beautiful projects to take home and treasure. 🎨 Mixed Media Treehouse Village Painting (18x24) Students will sketch and paint an imaginative treehouse village, adding layers of color, texture, and detail with mixed media techniques. We'll work with acrylic paints, collage materials, and drawing tools to bring their unique villages to life on a large mixed media page—encouraging creativity, storytelling, and personal expression. This project will take 3-4 weeks and will have lots of small parts. 🪵 Handcrafted Wooden Lantern Next, students will design and decorate their own wooden lantern—perfect for adding a magical glow to their room or outdoor space. We’ll explore painting and woodcraft techniques, and finish the lanterns with a beautiful, weather-resistant seal. (Lanterns can hold a battery-powered tea light!) This project is expected to take 1-2 weeks. ----- Due to the nature of this class, the following activity may not be completed during the 6 week session, but supplies and instructions will be sent home for independent completion. 🌞 Beaded Sun Catcher Finally, young makers will create a colorful beaded sun catcher, learning basic jewelry-making and beading skills. Using vibrant beads, wire, and charms, they’ll craft a one-of-a-kind piece that catches the light and adds sparkle to any window or garden. This project will be planned with time in mind. Depending on the speed and flow of the class, we will either do a simple beaded suncatcher(1 week) or a more complicated suncatcher (2 weeks). Throughout this class, students will gain confidence in planning, design, and craftsmanship, all while having fun in a supportive, creative environment.
